The ACPH resistor is built directly in an aluminium air cooled housing. The already high power capacity can be considerably increased by up to 150% using forced air cooling.
This resistor can be installed indoors as well as outdoors, because the encapsulated construction (IP54 / IP65) needs no additional protections against environmental impact.
The maximum allowable surface temperature shall not exceed 380°C while the ACPH resistor is loaded to nominal power in continuous working.
Depending on the application various options like thermal switch, shielded cable, low inductance and others are possible.
Typical applications:
- dynamic braking
- capacitor charge and discharge
- overvoltage suppression
- load bank
